[Your registered business name] ("PDFSync", "we", "us") runs the PDFSync PDF editor. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. By using PDFSync you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information

• Your name and email address, provided when you sign up.
• A password, which we store only in hashed (scrambled) form. We cannot read your password.
• If you choose "Sign in with Google": your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We never receive your Google password.
• An optional profile picture you upload.

Content you save

• When you are logged in and click Save, your PDF files and annotations (text, drawings, shapes, images and so on) are stored on our server so you can reopen the project later.
• Reviews you write in the Community Voices section, which are shown publicly together with your name.

Guests

If you use the editor without an account, your PDFs are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to our server unless you sign in and save them.

Payment information

Payments are handled by PayHere. Your card or bank details are entered on PayHere's secure pages and are never stored on PDFSync servers. We receive only the payment status, amount, currency and a payment reference.

Technical information

• Preferences saved in your browser's local storage (theme, accent colour, text size, shortcuts, login session).
• Basic server logs such as IP address, browser type and request time, used for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To store and reopen your saved projects.
• To process Premium payments, confirm your subscription and handle refunds.
• To contact you about your account, payments, support requests or important changes.
• To display your reviews if you choose to post one.
• To prevent fraud and abuse and to improve PDFSync.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• PayHere — to process payments.
• Google — only if you use Sign in with Google.
• Our hosting provider — which stores our servers and data on our behalf.
• Authorities — where required by law or a valid legal request.

These providers may process data outside Sri Lanka. We expect them to protect it appropriately.

4. Cookies and local storage

PDFSync uses your browser's local storage to keep you logged in and to remember your settings. It does not use advertising cookies. You can clear this data in your browser at any time, but you will be signed out and your preferences will reset.

5. Data security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data, including password hashing and secure connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention and deletion

• Saved projects and account details are kept while your account is active.
• You can delete any saved project yourself from the Your projects page.
• To delete your whole account and associated data, email us at [support@yourdomain.com]. We will act on verified requests within a reasonable time.
• We may keep payment records for as long as the law requires for accounting and tax purposes.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to certain uses of it. You can update your name, profile picture and password in Settings; for anything else, contact us.

8. Children

PDFSync is not intended for children under [18]. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Please review it periodically.
